CAD Design & Product Development
You do not need a CAD file to start a project with ATHERIS. Bring a sketch, a photo, a set of measurements or the broken part itself, and we will turn it into a practical 3D model that is ready to be made.
What we design
- Custom mechanical components and assemblies
- Parametric models that can be resized and revised easily
- Product concepts developed into working prototypes
- Parts redesigned for 3D printing, laser work or machining
- Replacements modelled from measurements or scans
- Enclosures, mounts and fixtures built around existing hardware
Designed with manufacturing in mind
A model that looks right on screen can still be hard to make. We design around the process that will produce the part: wall thickness and orientation for 3D printing, flat profiles for laser cutting, accessible features for machining. That keeps costs sensible and avoids surprises at fabrication.
How development works
We start with a conversation about what the part has to do. A first model is shared for feedback, and a physical prototype is usually made so you can hold it, test it and mark up changes. Revisions continue until the design does the job, and the final files are prepared for production with us or elsewhere.
Parametric modelling means later changes, like a different bolt spacing or a new size, are quick to make rather than a full redraw.
Scope
Our CAD work is practical product and part design. It is not licensed professional engineering, and we do not stamp drawings or certify load ratings. For regulated or safety-critical applications, we can work alongside your engineer.
Frequently asked questions
I only have a rough idea. Is that enough?
Yes. Many projects begin with a sketch or a description. We will ask the right questions and develop it with you.
Can I get the CAD files?
Yes. File ownership and formats are agreed at the quote stage, so you know exactly what you will receive.
Can you edit an existing model?
Yes. We can modify STEP and many other formats. Mesh files like STL can be edited, but larger changes may need the part remodelled.
Do you provide engineering certification?
No. We provide design and development, not licensed engineering services.
